1.Our Core Privacy Principle: Zero Data Collection

Chordulus (accessible via chordul.us and native mobile app packages) is an electronic musical instrument designed for creative performance and practice. We believe that privacy is a fundamental human right.

Chordulus does NOT collect, transmit, track, sell, or store any personal data, user accounts, cookies, advertising identifiers, or telemetry.

2.On-Device Audio Synthesis & Local Recording

Every chord, strumplate harmonic, rhythm pattern, and analog bass note is synthesized in real time on your device using native Web Audio oscillators, mathematical Fourier wavetables, and digital signal processors.

When you choose to record a performance (audio or video capture) or chord loop, all processing and media encoding occur strictly on your device. Recorded files are kept locally in your device's cache or local storage and are never uploaded to any remote server. They leave your device only if and when you explicitly choose to share or export them via the system share sheet.

3.Local Storage & Offline Operation

Chordulus functions 100% offline without requiring an internet connection. Song arrangements, custom presets, and user preferences are saved strictly within local device storage. You may freely export or import your song files as standard JSON files. No analytics SDKs, advertising frameworks, or remote tracking services are bundled in the app.

4.Device Permissions & Hardware Access

• No Microphone Access: Chordulus does NOT request or use microphone or camera permissions. All audio is synthesized purely from code.
• Haptic Feedback: Used solely to provide tactile vibration response when strumming virtual strings or pressing chord pads on supported mobile devices.
• Screen Wake Lock: Used temporarily during live musical playback to prevent your mobile screen from dimming or sleeping mid-performance.

No location, contact, photo library, or advertising permissions are requested or accessed.

5.Children’s Privacy (COPPA / GDPR)

Because Chordulus does not collect any personal data whatsoever, it is fully compliant with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Chordulus is safe for musicians of all ages.
